Xiaozhe Zhang is the Regional Manager for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) in IFAD. Her primary responsibilities focus on mainstreaming and institutionalizing the modality of SSTC in IFAD’s country program to leverage and strengthen development results and impact.
Since joining IFAD in 2013, she has successively worked in the Independent Office of Evaluation and Programme Management Department, undertaking evaluations at the project, country program, and corporate level and supporting operational delivery.
Prior to IFAD, she worked in the Technical Cooperation Department in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), facilitating the implementation of agricultural projects financed by the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Trust Fund.
As a development practitioner, she has field experience in Africa (e.g., Sudan, Lesotho), Asia (e.g., Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka), and the Caucasus region and has extensive knowledge of project management and operational guidelines and procedures of IFIs and UN agencies.
