Eungji Kim was trained as a mechanical engineer but found his lifelong interest in international development when he volunteered as a high school teacher in Paraguay through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in 2000. After completing his term in South America, he went on to join KOICA where he was involved in various phases of project design, implementation, and evaluation.
Eungji served as KOICA’s deputy country director in Guatemala, and later as country director in Egypt and in Washington DC, before becoming the director of KOICA’s Evaluation Office. He joined ADB in late 2018 as a Senior Evaluation Specialist.
