Vibhuti Mendiratta is a Senior Economist in the Research and Impact Assessment Division of IFAD. She leads rigorous impact assessments to understand the impact of IFAD’s interventions on rural livelihoods and to feed lessons learnt from these assessments into the design of future projects. She also engages in providing support and generating knowledge on themes relevant to IFAD’s key areas of interest in rural development.
Prior to joining IFAD, Vibhuti worked as a Senior Economist in the Poverty and Equity unit of The World Bank where she engaged in generating knowledge on issues related to poverty, inequality and gender as well as in policy dialogue with Statistical offices and Ministries of Finance of countries in Middle East, North Africa and East Africa. She has worked on topics related to survey design and data collection, poverty and inequality measurement as well as poverty assessments and country diagnostics.
Vibhuti holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the Paris School of Economics.
