Véronique Salze-Lozac’h joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as Chief Evaluator in June 2021. She is an economist with extensive evaluation experience and over 30 years of work on private sector support and policy reforms in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Previously, she was Deputy Director General of the Independent Evaluation Department at the Asian Development Bank for five years. She also spent over ten years at the Asia Foundation, holding positions such as Director of Economic Programs and Chief Economist.
Before joining the Foundation, she founded VSL Consulting and was involved in various economic projects and private sector investments. She also taught postgraduate students and professionals, including at the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) training centre.
She holds MAs in Political Science from Paris IV Sorbonne and in International Affairs/Economic Development from Sciences-Po Paris, and a PhD (all but dissertation) in Economic Development from the University of Pittsburgh.
