Dr Megan Govender is an Evaluation Specialist in the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). He leads evaluations that employ participatory approaches to assess DBSA’s commitment to evidence‑based decision‑making and transformative development impact. Megan has extensive experience in designing and conducting evaluations across diverse sectors, applying African‑rooted principles to strengthen evidence credibility and learning. He has contributed to several evaluation initiatives within DBSA and supports the advancement of evaluation systems through knowledge exchange and capacity development. At AEW 2026, he will present “From Principle to Practice: DBSA’s Made‑in‑Africa Evaluation Approach” in the Evidence Marketplace, showcasing how MAE principles are operationalized in practice. His participation reflects DBSA’s strategic focus on strengthening its M&E function through learning, peer engagement, and exposure to global evaluation systems.
