Xue Wei is the Deputy Director General of the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance of China. In 1994, he graduated from the School of Management of Harbin Institute of Technology with bachelor's and Master's degrees. From 1994 to 1997, he studied input-output technology at the Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (now the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science) and obtained his doctorate degree.
From 1997 to 2016, he was engaged in financial budget management and fiscal and tax reform related work in the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance of China, and successively served as the director of Central Expenditure division, Budget Supervision division and General division
