Director
German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval)
Jörg Faust is director of the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval) and Extraordinary Professor of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He holds a doctoral degree in political science from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and a Master in Business Administration from Mannheim University. Before joining DEval he was Head of Department at the German Development Institute (DIE). He chaired the OECD/DAC Network on Development Evaluation (EvalNet) from 2021-2025 and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI).
