Mr. Satya Srinivas is currently Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), bringing more than three decades of distinguished public service and leadership in international trade, customs administration, and economic policy. Prior to joining ADB, he served as Special Secretary in India’s Department of Commerce, overseeing the Europe Division, Special Economic Zones, Plantation Boards, and trade intelligence and statistics. He was Chief Negotiator for the India-EU negotiations, he also successfully led negotiations for the landmark India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) and the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). He also held senior positions in the Government of India, including Joint Secretary (Strategic Management) in the National Intelligence Grid and Joint Secretary (Customs) in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
He holds degrees in Mechanical and Production Engineering and joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1991. His expertise spans trade policy, taxation, compliance, revenue intelligence, financial investigations, customs administration, enforcement, and institutional reforms.
