Simona Somma is a seasoned expert with nearly two decades of experience in international development, specializing in the evaluation of complex programs, results-based management, and the design and implementation of development initiatives.
She currently serves as Evaluation Manager and Coordinator of the Knowledge Management Unit at the Independent Evaluation Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Prior to her role at EBRD, Simona was an Evaluation Specialist at the Independent Evaluation Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Independent Office of Evaluation at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Throughout her career, she has led and overseen evaluations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, covering diverse sectors such as finance, capital markets, SMEs, rural development, access to markets, livelihood diversification, gender equity, natural resource management, and climate finance.
Simona holds a Master’s degree in Economics and another in Project Management.
