These issues and more were deliberated strongly at the 2023 Asian Evaluation Week (AEW2023) event in Bangkok.

This discussion paper presents the main points from sessions at AEW2023 on key issues facing the evaluation community and the way forward for evaluation work.


What is Asian Evaluation Week?


The Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) is a leading evaluation knowledge sharing platform in the Asia and Pacific region which brings together government officials, representatives of international organizations, and evaluation experts interested in exchanging knowledge, sharing experience, and learning the latest innovations in evaluation.

AEW is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Finance, PRC, through the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI), and the Asian Development Bank’s Independent Evaluation Department (IED).

The 2024 Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) officially opens today in the vibrant city of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.
The 2024 Asian Evaluation Week is just a week away. Set to take place from 2 to 5 September in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, this year’s event is packed with five plenaries and 18 parallel sessions that will revolve around the main theme, “Innovations for Influential Evaluation”.
