Garik Petrosyan is an economist and public finance professional with extensive experience in macroeconomic policy, fiscal analysis, public investment management, and program evaluation. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Program Evaluation, Public Investment Management and Internal Audit Policy at the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.
Previously, he headed the Ministry’s Macroeconomic Policy Department, where his work focused on macroeconomic forecasting, fiscal policy, debt sustainability, structural reforms, and coordination of fiscal and monetary policies. He has also gained international experience through cooperation with institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and Asian Development Bank, and completed a six-month Voice Secondment Program (VSP) at the World Bank.
Garik holds a PhD in Economics and is also engaged in academic teaching, delivering courses in macroeconomics, public investment, program evaluation, and economic policy. His current professional interests include evidence-based policymaking, strengthening public investment systems, institutionalizing program evaluation, and applying innovative analytical and AI-based tools to public financial management.
