Ms. Nidhi Chhibber is a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre and serves as Director General (DG) of the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog. She holds a Master’s degree in History, an LL.B. and a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights.
In her current role, Ms. Chhibber provides strategic leadership to DMEO in strengthening India’s M&E ecosystem and promoting the systematic use of evidence in policymaking. During her tenure, DMEO has successfully undertaken a range of large-scale evaluations, including the comprehensive evaluation of nearly 70 Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Government of India (GoI) spanning diverse sectors, alongside evaluations of select Central Sector Schemes.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Chhibber served as Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and held several senior positions across State and Central Governments. Her extensive experience encompasses public administration, governance, education and institutional strengthening.
