Riccardo Polastro is Chief Evaluation Officer at WHO since 2023. Prior to joining WHO, he worked as Regional Evaluation Advisor at UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (and previously the one in East Asia and the Pacific).
Riccardo has twenty years of experience in humanitarian affairs and development aid having worked for the International Movement of the Red Cross, the United Nations, NGOs, donor agencies and private firms. Riccardo led and managed major development partners policy and program evaluations.
He lectured at several university-level master’s programs and provided professional training on results based management. He served as ALNAP steering committee member and as co-chair the United Nations Evaluation Development Group for Asia and the Pacific.
