Roberta Casali

Roberta Casali is ADB’s Vice President for Finance and Risk Management since January 2022. She oversees the Controller’s and Treasury Departments and Office of Risk Management. She leads key initiatives on balance sheet optimization, sustainable finance, and innovation, and promotes collaboration among Multilateral Development Banks, Credit Rating Agencies, and stakeholders in line with G20 recommendations.  

With over 30 years of leadership experience, she has held senior roles in the Italian central bank, corporate and investment banking sector, and served as Independent Chair and Non-Executive Director in various companies. She was a member of the Bank for International Settlements Working Group on Retail Payment Systems and was an Adjunct Professor at the LUISS Business School.  

Roberta holds an MA in Economics and Business Administration from La Sapienza University (Rome), an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester’s SIMON Business School (USA), and an International Directors Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD Business School (France).
