Sonia leads Evaluation Capacity Development at IED covering DMCs and ADB staff. She brings 35 years of international development experience from ADB, World Bank and the private sector in infrastructure operations. She has been with ADB since 2011, holding multiple responsibilities from project leader for innovative urban sector and climate resilience projects, environment safeguards and technical assistance programs. She was appointed the Sr. Advisor to the Vice President of Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development in 2015. She has published knowledge products on livable cities, nature-based solutions and climate adaptation. She holds a PhD from the University of Philippines, National College of Public Administration and Governance, a MS in environment engineering from College Park, USA, B. Arch from Chandigarh, India, Executive Education certificate in the “Leading Economic Growth” Program, from Harvard University, and an Executive Diploma in Urban Management Tools for Climate Change from Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, Rotterdam, Netherlands.
