Parallel Session 10: Beyond metrics: evaluability tools for climate project success

03:30 pm - 05:00 pm
2F Ballroom 2

Participants will learn about value-add of evaluability assessments (EAs) for building demand for evaluations through early engagement of stakeholders for quality, ownership and use of evaluations. The presenters would highlight methodological insights and share lessons and results, for regional, industry-wide and comparative learning. The evaluation's potential to drive organizational learning, adaptation, and evidence-based decision-making will be discussed. Effective interventions and rigorous evaluations require advanced planning and appropriate evaluative inputs- core concepts behind the evaluability assessments. This session will present lessons from the IEU's evaluability studies and quality assurance reviews, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen evaluation readiness across GCF’s portfolio. Speakers will discuss how tools like the evaluability scorecard are being used to support stronger climate project design and accountability.
