Sagarika Bogahawatta is the Head of the Evaluation Unit of the DPMM of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies of Sri Lanka. During 2016-2023, she engaged deeply in the process of drafting the National Evaluation Policy (NEP) and National Evaluation Policy Implementation Framework (NEPIF) of Sri Lanka.
Her career in planning, monitoring and evaluation started in 2002 and her areas of expertise are results-based planning, monitoring and evaluation. She guided and coordinated the Evaluation Capacity Development programme for 850 public sector officers attached to all levels in the governance structure of Sri Lanka during September 2023 to March 2024 as the initial step of the institutionalization of evaluation in Sri Lanka.
At present, she plays a vital role in the implementation of the Evaluation Agenda of the country. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration (Policy) from the Flinders University, Australia.
