
Houqi Hong is Principal Evaluation Specialist at the Independent Evaluation Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he leads thematic, corporate, program, and project evaluations.
Before joining ADB, he worked as a senior consultant in independent evaluation and results management at the World Bank Group (WBG) and as an advisor on its Executive Board. Prior to that, he managed projects financed by loans from WBG and ADB while serving as an official in China's Ministry of Finance and taught economics as an assistant professor at Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
Over the course of his career at ADB and WBG, he has led or served as a core team member in approximately three dozen evaluations, authored or co-authored over 30 published reports and articles, and provided quality assurance advice on numerous project completion reports. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, USA and a PhD in Technical Economics from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
