Jeffrey Chelsky’s interest in, and experience with, independent evaluation extends back to the late 1990s when, as senior advisor to the IMF Executive Director chairing the Executive Board's Evaluation Coordination Group, he assisted in the establishment of the IMF's Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) where he later worked.
Since 2018, he has managed the Economic Management and Country Programs Unit of the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) where, among other things, he oversees Country Program Evaluations and thematic evaluations in the macroeconomic, fiscal, debt and governance spaces. Jeffrey holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University, Canada, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Toronto, Canada.
