Dr. Lu Yang is currently research fellow at the Institute of the Belt and Road Initiative, Tsinghua University, Vice Secretary-General of Tsinghua Symposium. She got her doctorate in political Science from University of Heidelberg, Germany in 2014. She was post-doc at the Department of International Relations, Tsinghua University from 2015-2018, resident scholar of Tsinghua Carnegie Center, lecturer at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University, fellow of the India China Institute, The New School in New York, and senior research fellow at IDEAS, Xiamen. Her research area is international politics, focusing on India and South Asia, Germany and Europe. Her book “China-India Relations in the Contemporary World: Dynamics of National Interest and Identity” was published by Routledge in 2017.
In recent years she has been working on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and related topics such as BRI financial cooperation, digital silk road, BRICS cooperation etc. She has published numerous academic articles and opinion pieces, has been invited by CRI, CGTN, CCTV-13, Phoenix TV in news programs as guest speakers. She also holds a Bachelor in Music from Xiamen University, masters in political science South Asia and cultural anthropology from Heidelberg University, Germany.
